A Bit of History on Johnstone Supply

Johnstone Supply began back in 1953 and today it is the HVAC/R industries largest cooperative of independently owned and operated stores. Nationwide, Johnstone is made-up of over 340 stores which include five major distribution points (Oregon, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Florida and the newest addition in Las Vegas, Nevada). Our six stores in Nebraska and Iowa are locally owned by Kim and MaryAnn Cafferty for over 28 years. In Nebraska, we have two stores in Omaha, one in Lincoln, and one in Kearney and in Iowa, we have a store in Des Moines and Davenport.

We recently just built a brand new store in Omaha at 4747 South 30th, located in the Stockyards Business Plaza just off of 30th and L Streets. This location is the Old Market's new home. Our current project is moving our Davenport store to a new location. April 23rd will be the Grand Opening and their new location is the old dog pound at 5001 Brady Street. Johnstone produces a new catalog every April stocked full of product from over 300 different manufacturers. In addition to the catalog, a flyer is distributed every month, as well, with great prices on many different items. At the local level, we distribute a monthly newsletter with our statements full of information on upcoming events, classes and more. Locally, we also produce two Pre-Season programs, one in the spring and one in the fall with fantastic prices on all must have items. We also have an Open House in the spring and one in the fall at each of our locations (Omaha's event is generally held at the new Stockyards store). The Open Houses are always a great event with many different vendors, great food and fabulous door prizes. In addition to our Open Houses, the Des Moines and Omaha locations each hosts an annual golf outing every May which is a huge success thanks to our very supportive vendors and customers.

We are proud to say we have some of the best trained people to serve you in our industry. Training is a huge part of our success plus Kim's operations enjoy little-to-no turnover in personnel which helps build company morale at all levels. We are committed to our organization with our attendance, dollars and volunteerism. We have come a long way in 28 years because of dedicated customers like you and we look forward to continued growth over the next 28 years.
